Horizon understands that teens need care designed just for them—care that speaks to their unique developmental, emotional, and social challenges. At the Arrowhead location, Horizon
on offers residential treatment for a wide range of struggles, including OCD, PTSD, self-harm, suicidal thoughts, and substance use. With an emphasis on family involvement and life skill development, teens not only heal but also rediscover their resilience, confidence, and hope for the future.
Comprehensive Healing, Inside and Out
At Horizon, treatment goes beyond symptom management. Each teen receives care that’s personalized to their needs, guided by clinicians who specialize in adolescent mental health and addiction. Evidence-based therapies such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), family therapy, and medication management are paired with holistic practices like equine therapy, pet therapy, yoga, and meditation. This whole-person approach nurtures the mind, body, and spirit.

With warm, home-like living spaces, access to nature, and a supportive community, every detail is designed for healing. Healing doesn’t stop at discharge. Horizon ensures that teens and families are supported during the transition back to everyday life. Aftercare services include outpatient therapy, relapse prevention planning, and participation in alumni programs that foster long-term connection. Case managers also coordinate with schools and community resources to create a smooth and sustainable path forward.

At this stage of the continuum, teens live on-site and receive round-the-clock support for both addiction and mental health challenges. The care team provides intensive, individualized treatment in a nurturing setting.

The length of treatment depends on the person, but our programs can last from a few weeks to a few months. Outpatient treatment alone can last months.
Horizon Recovery currently offer tutoring, music lessons, and trauma-informed book studies for teens currently in our programs.
Horizon Recovery evidence-based clinical therapies include: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Individual Therapy, Family Therapy
Items your teen is allowed to bring include: ID (such as your driver’s license), Insurance card, Any relevant medical records and/or prescription medications in original containers, Personal hygiene products (soap, shampoo, toothpaste, brush, feminine products, etc.), Clothing (PJs, shoes, socks, undergarments, pants, shirts, etc.)
